Buliwyf was born of human parents and raised outside the city of Stannasgard. The people of his village were known as fine metal workers as well as fishermen.

In his youth, Buliwyf took part in much reaving and raiding as is the tradition of his people. Later years would see him traveling the north lands collecting songs and poetry of all peoples.

One fateful day, the Jarl of Stansborg, to the west, sent a call for heroes to rid his land of a giant serpent. Buliwyf and two companions answered the challenge. The three warriors fought well, but two fell in battle with the creature. Buliwyf followed the wounded serpent to its lair before being disarmed of his spear by the beast in an underwater ambush. In a contest of strength, Buliwyf and the serpent grappled underwater before the skald drew his dagger and stabbed the great creature through the eye, killing it.

Buliwyf now travels the land and sea as an adventurer and hero, spreading the culture of his people through oral tradition and inspiring his allies.

Buliwyf has a clean and well groomed appearance, though his clothing and equipment confirm his northern heritage.

The skald wears armor of steel scale mail, made to resemble the scales of a dragon. His shield is of the northern style, made of hardwood with steel bandings. He bares a well crafted northern axe, a long spear, and two throwing weapons in the form of hammer and axe.

Buliwyf wears much adornment on his person. Silver and copper rings, a silver bracelet, and a silver necklace with the symbol of Thor. A deep blue embroidered cloak is secured around his neck and a woven cloth circlet holds his combed hair in place.

Strapped to his pack is a very well crafted drum. The instrument is a cylinder six inches deep and eighteen inches across. It holds many ancient runes on its leather surface. On his belt, Buliwyf has secured a large war horn made of bovine and engraved with copper runes and edging.
