Born into a deeply faithful family, Antione was pushed for the life of the cloth. He was naturally strong, and so was pushed into the service of Aten's missionaries. After gaining some renown he heard of reports that vampires had taken hold in the north. Antoine immediately went to where the reports were from and confronted the vampire, who toyed with the paladin, and eventually drained him. As a cruel trick, the Vampire filled the paladin with shadow.
Throughout the years, he amassed power, not only trying to reconnect himself to Aten, but to try to take power from the vampires who now called him a brother. His first cold blood murder happened because one of the Lord's minions threatened his one time home. The poisoned blood within him gave him such pleasure that it would be impossible to go back.
As the years went on, these choices kept compounding. They say that the villain is the hero of their own story, Antoine is no different. He started by fighting the lower class vampires for control of the lands, and he started being seen as the liberator. When he started asking them to defend his claim, he was no longer seen this way.
With his conquests becoming more and more difficult to , he started needing to make allies.
