The Arcane Watchers

The Arcane Watchers (The Watchers) is a group of registered arcanists (Wizards, Warlocks and Sorcerers) dedicated to the arcane safety of Seregon. The organization is a social club, sponsored by the Schoonoven family, with its own three story clubhouse (and research basement) on the Schoonoven Estate in the Starfire Hill District. The organization does a few things:

  • It registers arcane spellcasters for some peace of mind.
  • It puts arcanists on alert for magical threats in the city.
  • It allows House Schoonoven to recruit arcanists for research at their vattery.
  • It provides a place for arcanists to socialize, relax, practice their craft, and avoid getting into trouble.

Arcanists are often asked to join The Watchers at third level of power. If you are an arcanist, you can apply with a certainty of accepance.

The Watchers have a wonderful arcane library. Arcane topics studied in The Watcher library are researched with Advantage.

In addition to the arcane library and social club, The Watchers provide the following:

  1. Magical Training Grounds: Specialized areas where members can safely practice and experiment with new spells or magical techniques, including dueling arenas for friendly competitions.

  2. Workshops and Labs: Fully equipped spaces for enchanting items, brewing potions, and crafting magical artifacts, with access to rare ingredients and tools (at a cost).

  3. Mentorship Programs: Pairing less experienced spellcasters with seasoned mentors for guidance, advice, and advanced learning opportunities.

  4. Exclusive Contracts and Missions: Offering members first dibs on lucrative contracts and missions that require magical expertise, often sponsored by wealthy patrons or the city itself.

  5. Networking Events: Regular gatherings, balls, and banquets where members can network, form alliances, and share knowledge with influential figures in the magical and political community.

  6. Magical Legal Services: Assistance with legal matters concerning magical practices, including defense in cases of magical disputes or accusations.

  7. Exclusive Access to Rare Knowledge: Scrolls, books, and tomes that are not available to the general public, containing ancient spells, rituals, and arcane theories.

  8. Crisis Response Team: A dedicated group of powerful members who are on call to handle magical crises, such as rogue spellcasters, magical disasters, or arcane anomalies.
