Crystal Vattery (Core, Navigation)

The Hendriks family of Seregon is a powerful and respected lineage, deeply entwined with the city’s history and its rise to prominence. As one of the founding families of Seregon, their influence stretches back generations, with their ancestor, a general during the Amphizian Empire, laying the foundation for their legacy.

Family Overview

Erken Hendriks is the current patriarch of the family, a man of 55 years who has lived a life marked by both honor and tragedy. In his prime, Erken served as a Captain with the Iron Guard, where he earned a reputation for being formidable in both combat and leadership. His experience in the Guard has made him a strong and disciplined leader, traits that he carried over into the family business.

The Crystal Vattery

The Hendriks family runs the second-largest crystal vattery in Seregon, second only to the Schoonovens. Unlike the Schoonoven crystals, which are sophisticated and mainly used for Starfire lift crystals, the Hendriks' crystals are primarily utilized for other purposes, such as core crystals and propulsion systems. Their crystals are known for their durability and power, making them a preferred choice in military applications and industrial uses. They also make smaller lift crystals, more as a back up to the Schoonovens.

Family Tragedy and Heir

The Hendriks family has not been without its share of heartbreak. Erken's two eldest sons, who were being groomed to take over the family business, both met untimely deaths. The eldest died seven years ago during The Tiamat Incident, a battle that left many scars on the city. The second son, driven by a sense of adventure and perhaps a desire to live up to his brother’s legacy, perished a few years later at the hands of The Red Flux. These losses have left Erken devastated, but he continues to lead the family with the same strength and determination that has always defined him.

Leaf Hendriks, at just 17 years old, is now the only surviving heir. Leaf has inherited not only his father's formidable nature but also a deep-seated rage over the state of the world and the losses his family has endured. This anger fuels him in battle, making him a powerful and often unpredictable warrior. However, Leaf has been missing for weeks, having ventured into the jungle with Clement Schoonoven, the missing son of the Schoonoven family. The Hendriks family is deeply concerned about his disappearance, and Erken, in particular, is struggling with the possibility of losing his last remaining child.

The Hendriks Legacy

The Hendriks are a family built on strength, resilience, and a deep connection to Seregon’s history. Their legacy is one of both innovation in crystal technology and military prowess. Erken Hendriks embodies the spirit of his ancestors, leading his family with the same determination that his great-grandfather, a general in the Amphizian Empire, once led his troops.

The family’s future, however, now hinges on the fate of young Leaf, and whether he will return from the jungle to take up the mantle of leadership. If he does, he will inherit not only the family business but also the heavy burden of its legacy, carrying forward the Hendriks name into the next generation of Seregon’s history.
