Lyra Morathis: The Whisper of Moog (Enchantment)

Lyra Morathis, known as The Whisper of Moog, was once a dazzling enchantress, celebrated for her beauty and charm. However, by the time she was last seen, Lyra had become a shadow of her former self—still powerful, but having indulged in her magic to the point of physical decline. At around 65 years old, she had long, grey hair that fell in loose waves, framing her somewhat overweight form. Her once-graceful movements had slowed, and she was known to tire easily, but her piercing violet eyes still held the same intense magnetism that had earned her both adoration and fear.

Her stronghold is Saj Vezhof.

Personality and Behavior:

Lyra’s true power has always been her ability to control others. She was once the kind of person who could walk into a room and command attention without uttering a word—her very presence seemed to bend wills. Over time, however, her reliance on enchantment magic to manipulate and dominate others had turned into a dangerous crutch. Rather than rely on her own talents or charm, she used her spells to make others serve her, whether through Dominate Person, Suggestion, or more subtle, insidious compulsions.

This tendency led to her becoming lazy and indulgent, with her physical health deteriorating as she surrounded herself with charmed servants who catered to her every need. Rather than walk, she would command someone to carry her. Instead of preparing her own meals, she would compel the finest chefs to cook for her, no matter where she was. This abuse of power made her a figure of both envy and disdain.

Banned from Cities:

As Lyra grew older, her charm over others began to outstrip her sense of discretion. Her enchantment magic was used not just on those close to her, but on entire communities. She would arrive in wealthy cities, target influential merchants, nobles, and even city officials, and dominate them into offering her lavish homes, food, and luxury at no cost. It wasn’t long before her behavior became impossible to hide.

Several cities banned her after her manipulations were discovered. Her ability to live for free in wealthy areas was a scandal in many courts. In some cities, she had charmed entire districts into providing her with endless wealth and leisure, living like a queen without lifting a finger. Even when the charm or domination spells wore off, the damage had been done—families were left impoverished, businesses bankrupted, and whole city sections were turned against each other. She left ruin in her wake, exiled from one place after another.

Physical Appearance:

By the time of her last known appearance, Lyra's physical health had taken a significant toll from years of luxury and indulgence, though her magic kept her in a semi-idealized form, hiding some of the effects of age. She was often seen with long, silver-grey hair, still elegant, but without the vibrancy of her youth. She had grown overweight, the result of her indulgent lifestyle, and relied heavily on magic to handle even mundane tasks. Her skin, once smooth, had begun to show wrinkles, though she used magic to minimize her aging appearance when needed.

Despite her decline, Lyra still dressed in the finest silks and jewelry, often choosing rich purple and deep red robes with gold embroidery—colors that symbolized both her wealth and enchantment powers. She wore rings enchanted with protective spells and carried an ornate staff, more for show than necessity, as most of her magic was woven with mere words and glances.

Mannerisms and Quirks:

  • Subtle Magic in Every Word: Lyra rarely spoke without weaving some level of enchantment into her words. Even in casual conversation, she would layer in magical suggestions, bending those around her to her will, whether it was to agree with her opinions or offer her aid.

  • A Constant Entourage: Wherever she went, Lyra always had a small entourage of charmed servants. She preferred to be carried on a luxurious litter rather than walk, and had assistants feed her, dress her, and attend to her whims without lifting a finger. If her charm over them faded, she would simply cast again.

  • A Soft, Dangerous Voice: Her voice was soft, almost a whisper, but it carried with it the weight of compulsion. She rarely needed to raise her voice—her words seemed to slip directly into the minds of her listeners, and few could resist the urge to obey her gentle commands.

  • Obsessed with Control: Lyra was obsessed with maintaining control over everyone and everything in her life. This obsession sometimes bordered on paranoia, and though she appeared serene on the surface, she was constantly casting enchantment spells to ensure those around her remained loyal and subservient. She despised anyone with the willpower to resist her magic and saw them as a threat.
