The Moog Dwarf: The Domain and Their Culture

Deep beneath the Island of Moog, within the volcanic chasms of the Tlalmecatl Peaks, lies The Domain, the subterranean kingdom of the albino or Moog Dwarf. Known for their striking white hair, pale skin, and pink eyes, these dwarves are sensitive to the harsh sunlight of Moog, and as a result, they only emerge to the surface under the cover of night. Their lives and culture are tied deeply to the earth and the wealth it provides, specifically through the treasures unearthed in their vast network of mines. Over centuries, they have built a complex and rich society, defined by their craftsmanship, spiritual beliefs, and isolation from the surface world.

The Domain: Subterranean Realm of the Albino Dwarves

The Domain is a vast underground kingdom, built deep into the volcanic chasms and caverns of the Tlalmecatl Peaks. The dwarves have hollowed out an extensive network of mines, tunnels, and grand halls, filled with the riches of Moog's depths—gems, precious metals, and rare ores. These treasures not only define their economy but also serve as the foundation of their identity and spirituality.

Key Locations in The Domain

  1. Hrakhamar – The Ruined Forge-Complex

    • Once the pride of the albino dwarves, Hrakhamar was a massive forge-complex built within a volcanic chasm. Here, dwarven smiths produced their finest works, using the heat of the volcano to craft weapons and armor of unparalleled quality. However, after the brutal war with Yaxun B’alam, the complex was largely abandoned, its forges now cold and dark. The ruins of Hrakhamar are still highly revered, with efforts being made to reclaim and restore it.
  2. The Adamantine Vaults

    • These deep vaults, hidden in the furthest reaches of The Domain, contain the dwarves' greatest treasures. Adamantine, a rare and precious metal, was mined here, along with diamonds and other gemstones. Only the most skilled and high-ranking dwarves are allowed to work in the vaults, which are guarded by powerful wards and ancient defenses.
  3. The Great Ancestral Hall

    • A vast underground chamber where the statues of the ancestral kings and queens of the albino dwarves stand. This hall is where they hold important ceremonies, recite their lineages (whakapapa), and honor their dead. The dwarves believe that the spirits of their ancestors dwell here, and the hall is considered a sacred place, watched over by the priests of Thard Harr, their patron god.
  4. The Sunless Road

    • A network of tunnels that run beneath the jungle of Moog, built as a means to escape the deadly predators that roam the surface. These tunnels are used for trade and travel between different dwarven enclaves and mining sites, and some extend all the way to Seregon, where many albino dwarves have recently migrated due to increased volcanic activity.
