The Keep was erected to provide safe haven for those traveling along the perilous Kerkhof Route, 80 miles into the dense jungle. Travelers would journey by train and, upon reaching this remote station, be met by carriages that would escort them up the quarter-mile hike to the Keep itself, perched strategically on a hill to ensure security. It served as a guest house for the brave and daring, overseen by the followers of Ashtoreth, whose temple resided within the Keep’s walls.
