Feigrvidr

The abandoned dwarven hold of Feigrvidr lies in a remote and dangerous region, 30 miles north of Helderdink, along the Locantis Route, an ancient trail carved through the rugged wilderness of the Titan Peaks. The location, though once a hub of wealth and innovation, is now a place of haunting desolation, standing as a testament to the tragedy that unfolded during the zombie apocalypse 130 years ago.

Feigrvidr was founded by the dwarven master smith Svingal Halfbeard, who chose the site for its unparalleled access to rich veins of pure ore, and the natural fortifications provided by the surrounding mountains. Today, the ruined hold sits amid stark beauty and treacherous terrain.

Geography and Surroundings

Feigrvidr is located at the foot of the Titan Peaks, a towering mountain range that rises dramatically from the landscape, its jagged spires scraping the sky. The peaks are a mix of granite and slate, with deep fissures and sheer cliffs that make them difficult to traverse. Between these mountains lie narrow valleys and hidden passes, some of which were once trodden by dwarven caravans, now lost to time.

  • Amon-Gorloth Bridge: Just south of Feigrvidr, the Amon Gorloth Gorge slices through the landscape like a wound. The gorge is deep and narrow, with treacherous cliffs that plunge into shadowed depths. A road known as Cattle’s Crossing: Forgotten Path of Amon-Gorloth cross the gorge, once used to transport ore and livestock between the hold and the lowlands. The bridge, though old, remains remarkably intact—a testament to dwarven craftsmanship—but its disrepair makes it a risky crossing.

  • Locantis Route: The ancient Locantis Route leads through the valleys and lowlands, meandering along the edges of steep cliffs and skirting dense forests before reaching the Titan Peaks. The road, abandoned for over a century, has fallen into ruin, overgrown with thick underbrush and crawling with dangerous wildlife. Travelers still brave the route, lured by rumors of treasure and ancient relics hidden in Feigrvidr, but it is not uncommon for caravans to go missing along the way, victims of the harsh landscape or the horrors left behind after the apocalypse.

  • The Vale of Echoes: To the north of Feigrvidr lies the Vale of Echoes, a wide valley enclosed by the towering spires of the Titan Peaks. Once a place of great industry, where miners worked the rich ore deposits, the vale is now eerily silent, save for the whispers of the wind that seem to carry the voices of the dead. Ruined mine shafts and abandoned work camps dot the landscape, their skeletal frames barely visible through the thick mist that clings to the valley floor. This vale is believed to be cursed, as many who venture into it never return.
