Scroll of K’laxatl’s Rite

📜 Scroll of K’laxatl’s Rite

Wondrous Item (Very Rare, Consumable, Requires Arcana DC 18 to Read Fully)
Crafted in the late Age of Masks by the Olmoy death-cultist K’laxatl, this scroll is written in silver ink on bark flayed from a tree that only grows in moonless valleys.

Description:

The scroll is sealed within a watertight, acid-scarred scroll tube made from the tusk of a deepwater beast. Its outer casing is carved with spiraling glyphs and fetishes resembling ancient reptilian gods.

Located in Vitac Tzim

Contents (Decoded over time):

This scroll contains the components and instructions for a necromantic ritual capable of raising a Huge or Gargantuan beast as an undead servitor. It is not a spell, but a complex rite combining alchemy, sacrifice, planar bindings, and incantation.

Requirements:

  • One massive corpse (must be at least Huge and not more than one week dead)
  • Titan Marrow – harvested from a primordial or extinct creature (e.g., mammoth, dinosaur, behir, or draconic husk)
  • Stormbound Vessel – a container of captured lightning or bottled storm essence
  • True Name of the Beast – researched or magically obtained
  • The ritual must be performed during a full moon or blood moon
  • 1,000 gp in rare alchemical components, 3 hours, and 3 spellcasters combining their focus

Outcome:

The creature is raised as an Undead Juggernaut under the control of the rite’s primary caster. Its soul is not present—the shell of the beast is driven by hate, bound by ancient forces. The bond is unstable, and the creature may rebel if the caster falters.
