Constrictor snakes were carnivorous Snakes of large proportions, designed to overwhelm and grapple prey. They varied greatly in terms of physical abilities and appearances, often camouflaging to their native environments, but all constrictor snakes were large enough to kill and consume a medium-sized Human. Some constrictor snakes could swim, and some possessed large teeth that curved inward, but all had large scales and strong muscles. Their jaws could become unhinged from their skull, and the lower jaw had a special elastic ligament which allowed it to spread into two halves, allowing them to swallow their prey.
Constrictor snakes were ambush predators. They either dropped onto a target from above or slowly approached their prey while they were sleeping. They bit into their prey with their sharp fangs, anchoring them while they used their powerful muscles to constrict their prey, causing slow suffocation. Some constrictor snakes possessed an innate magical ability to charm a target, causing temporary paralysis.
