Seven Spirits

The Seven Spirits was a secret society of master distillers whose spirits were among the rarest and most coveted in Somnum's richest families. Each member lineage guarded the methods behind a single spirit, and the names of the families themselves were scarcely known outside the most dedicated circles of the distilling craft.

None of the Seven Spirits held any true Enchantment via Spellcraft, but their social transformative power was undeniable. A single bottle could carry the lowest and most forgotten duke to a seat at the most important table, and possessing one signaled a level of access and understanding reserved for the elite. The society used this desirability, along with the patrons it cultivated in the highest circles, to steer politics and influence the powerful. Once a bottle was drunk its power was spent, and it fell to the Seven Spirits to decide who would receive another.
