Information for PCs

Character Creation

  1. Attributes: Roll 3d6 for each attribute, in order. If the net modifiers of your attribute spread is negative, you may reroll any negative or neutral (±0) attribute until the spread becomes a net neutral or better.

  2. Choose Race. Humans may swap any two Attributes and non-humans gain a Special Ability (p.39) (and possibly an additional quirk).

  3. Concept/Class, Assign Primary Attributes. You might also finish your equipment step here by adopting a corresponding Quick Equipment archetype.

  4. Appearance & Mannerisms. Choose or roll your Physical Appearance, Notable Detail, Clothing, and Quirk on page 45. Name your character.

  5. Occupations. Humans get two occupations, nonhumans get one in addition to their special ability.

  6. Alignment. Options are Lawful, Neutral, Chaotic. If playing clergy, choose an appropriate deity (see the religion of your PC’s homeland).

  7. Use the tables as described on page 12 for Starting Gear (you can skip rolling on the armor table in exchange for an Arcane Textbook). You may also, instead of rolling for starting gold (you just get 30gp) and shopping, choose a Quick Equipment loadout that matches your archetype.

Available Races

Nonhumans gain only one occupation and their Special Ability (p. 39) while humans may choose two occupations and may swap two of their ability scores.

  • Human
    • Earthling. Just like us🥰 (a descendant of refugees escaping Earth's apocalypse).
    • Barsoomian (tough martian aristocrats with unique aspect)
    • Ixionite (old wizards descended from a planet appearing during the worst centuries of an aeon, but in a positive light)
  • Elf (Keen Senses)
    • Changeling (a full blooded elf swapped into a human family)
    • Half elf (prominent elfish ancestry)
  • Dwarf: Stone-cunning (advantage on rolls to glean facts from masonry), and, optionally, Cave-adapted (Dark vision Near distance but stunned and nauseous in daylight).
  • Halfling: Stealthy.
  • Beastling: Probably as human unless the beast’s aspect promises a special ability.
