Downtime: Investments and Wealth (3_1_2026)

The party decides to sell the gem and jewelry loot recovered from Gellan Primewater's shipboard vault. Various local shopkeepers pool their resources to purchase several items, though these kinds of luxuries are unfortunately beyond the tastes—and means—of most provincial Saltmarsh residents. Ultimately, Winston Goodwort steps in, claiming he can find numerous buyers for the “luxury items.” He charges a steep transaction fee of 10%.

Durik Ironhide having decided to retire from adventuring and acquire a controlling share of what remains of Primewater’s shipping company, now relabeled Ironhide Azure Sea Charter and Shipping, offers the party a selection of his magical items (added to the Google Sheet). The estimated value of these items exceeds 55,000 gp, but he is willing to sell them for a fraction of that price, as he needs to generate capital to secure his position as the controlling investor in the company.

With store Captain Xendros's store closed while he is away, and no reliable local source for purchasing magical items—and desiring a powerful ally in the shipping lanes of the Azure Sea—the party agrees. They transfer an additional 20,000 gp to Durik.

Even after this substantial investment, the party members are not only rich in magical and rare items but still walk away with 240 pp (equivalent to 1,200 gp) each.
