Before Jahan sits down to meditate, he asks Sirona to hold up the dagger for him. He says she should be fine thanks to her divine blood. Sirona picks up the blade a bit hesitantly and not before she has a potion of healing at the ready in her other hand. The blade stings and almost makes her drop it, but she suffers no injury beyond the discomfort.
Jahan starts his meditation, and from the blade, a horned demon and two imps are expelled. Adrian and Jak, who had both placed themselves on each side of Sirona, immediately leaps into action. Jak has dawned the disgusting visage of a rotting zombie corpse with long repugnant claws. Adrian's sword cuts hard into the demon, making his form turn incorporeal as he almost banishes it from the material plane together with Jak. It remains only by a thread as Irdien throws a dagger from behind them. It travels through the smoke before the demons shrieks, and his body starts imploding until it vanishes back to its home plane with a popping sound.
Labrat movies up to fight an imp, trying to pull its eyes away from Adrian, who is being swarmed. She sends and intimidating lightning breath its way before swinging her sword. The skittish imp only barely manages to dodge her attack, but his eyes remain on Adrian. It dives towards him, tearing into his body with long nasty claws.
As he tries fighting it off Sirona sends a healing spell his way. She sees that the other imp is ready to join in on the attack and sends a blue ice javelin of faith straight at it. It is not enough to discourage it from going for its original target, and the feral claws try shredding into Adrian. This time, however, Adrian is prepared enough to parry the attempt with his sword, causing the imp to become immensely enraged.
Trying to find another, more tactical position, Adrian and Jak dance around exchanging places with each other. Irdien joins the front-line but finds that the hyperactive imps are a hard target. Labrat keeps trying to get the imps to turn away from their flanked target, who is now Jak. Not able to deny themselves the opportunity to dig their sharp nails into Jak's dead flesh suit the imps keeps flailing on their intended target. They managed to strip almost every part of the zombie exterior from Jak, but the bard underneath it all is not hurt.
Sirona targets the enraged imp again with another Javelin before telling Adrian that they need to focus on it over the other. She moves into the room, spinning around it, hoping Adrian will follow. The monster hunter does, and with another series of attacks, he slays the creature. With the help of Labrat's manoeuvres and tricks, Jak manages to put the last imp down shortly after.
Jahan wakes from his trance and reaches for the dagger still in Sirona's hand. She gives it to him, and he examines it. It's a cursed weapon. Jahan says it will leach of the soul of your enemies when used, but will also hamper any form of healing done in its immediate vicinity. He congratulates the group on a job well done and asks Adrian to help him down to the street since the act of exorcising the demons has taken its toll.
While alone, The Demon Hunter gives The Monster Hunter his honest opinion and professional recommendation concerning the feather-haired being in his company. He says she is not what she seems and should either be terminated or reformed. Only someone with a connection to The Diabolist could hold the dagger. Her divinity would not have protected her. Adrian tried to convince him that he is wrong and tells Jahan about the cult in Domburton and what he saw during the fight at the docks of Edolan. He is rewarded merely with pieces of an old legend. It is said that The Diabolist has a human lifespan, but that she cheats death by taking the bodies of young girls as new hosts. If what Adrian says is true, Sirona might be groomed for this fate and needs to be shielded or destroyed. The Diabolist must not be allowed to turn her into a new vessel.
