Adrian has informed to party that along the old border that used to divide the human empire and the dwarven stand a tall wall. It had since fallen in disrepair and collapsed on several places throughout the woods, especially along paths that were thought to bothersome to build it properly in the first place. The goal is to find one of these and pass through to avoid being noticed on the main road.
As the group wait for Jahan to meet them at the city gate, Jak hands out seven cards to each of his friends, save for Capper, who gets nothing. Jak tells them that they can send him messages containing words up to the number of cards they have with these seven cards on their person. It then resets every hour.
The first day goes excellent, and the group is making a good time. At their first campsite, L and Sirona does a fine job figuring out how to set up their tent for the first time ever. Seeing as the night is clear, Jak just suspends his Gleeman's cloak between two threes, somewhat close to the fire for the night. While camping, they discuss the mission's target, and Jahan says the best idea is to try and find some people in the forest to ask for clues.
The next day Adrian teaches L how to navigate, and under her leadership, the group once again make some good time on their journey. During the night, a cold and heavy rain finds them and keeps them company throughout the next day. Despite being wet and cold, the ride is going well. Sometime around supper time, the scent of firewood catches their attention. Using the magical cards, Adrian tells Jak to stay behind and keep an eye on Jahan while he and Irdien scouts ahead.
The duo finds a small one storage stone cottage inside a small garden. There is a stone obelisk in the front garden that seems to be a shrine to an obscure deity.
Adrian walks up and knocks on the door. A scared little man opens. He says he is the cleric of Samotnic, the Hermit God, but Adrian is welcome to enter together with his friends. He looks pretty uncomfortable by having guests and reluctant to talk but does reply that his name is Timothy when asked. He only has one guestroom and asks that the group don't go into his bedroom, but other than that, they are free to make themselves comfy. Jak takes the opportunity to learn more about Samotnic, but the diety seems to be aloof and distant that it's not entirely clear that the god exists. Irdien finds a book on drow folk tales that she starts leafing through after their meal, and the party begins discussing how to best divide the potential sleeping areas.
Into the woods and who can tell What's waiting on the journey?
