Jak o' the Wisp wants to avoid the guards on their way back to the commons and suggest a shortcut through the sewers that he found while studying the maps in the guild's library. He promises that they can get close to the temples since Sirona Boyd says she wants to go there, but mostly he wants to get a drink at a pub. Adrian Maulitz already smelling like fish and saltwater decides against going through the sewers and says that he'll meet up the other side.
The sewer is dark, but a small light catches their attention. Its the wizard Tobias Heringborn that is currently in a fight with an Ocher Jelly. He screams for help when he spots Irdien Talvaeth trying to spy on them.
The group hurryingly try to save the so far unharmed wizard. The goopy sludging lump leaves acid burns when it lashes out at the group. Eventually, it is subdued but not before splitting into two lumps after Sirona hits it with her war pick. As it dissolving on the group, Tobias steps up and delivers the last blow to the creature, that is already within an inch of its life. He thanks the group profoundly and as a token of appreciation, he gives out four crystals. Tobias also reveals that he is part of The Waterworks Guild and that he has to clean the sewers because he isn't that great of a mage. He tried summoning the Jelly creature to clean it for him, but he couldn't control it. The group ask if he has seen anything lately in the sewers that he might have found suspicious considering the Zombie attack the other day and he tells us that some time ago he saw two men wearing the same type of waterworks robes carrying what could have been a body. As he realizes the danger, Tobias decide to leave work early and talk to his supervisor, but first, he gives us directions to the nearest exit.
The group arrive at the temple grounds, smelling of sewer waste. Jak helps by mixing some herbs to cover up the sent, and they all quickly wash their hands and faces in a fountain before entering the temple of Morena. Irdien wants to pay respect to Veles while she is here. Jak seeks out one of the priestesses in Morenas Temple to apologies for last time with the pie incident and to ask for guidance as he feels the loss of his true love has left him with no reason for existence.
Meanwhile, Sirona prays for the dead she has left in her wake since escaping the mansion. She asks Morena for guidance and feels the touch of a hand on her shoulder. When she turns to look, there is none there, but she sees frost on her shoulder. A warmth sensation of support fuels her. Sirona removes her wimple and leaves it on the altar as an offering, and a promise to her great grandmother.
As Irdien enters the Temple of Veles, she spots an argument taking place between some of the priests. She catches them talking about a breach down in the underground vault.
