Sirona Boyd wakes first followed by Irdien Talvaeth. The girls talk for a moment about breakfast when Adrian Maulitz shows up saying he should go to the market to buy meat for the Drakes. Sirona convinces him to eat his own breakfast first.
Irdien starts conducting a plan on how to get the two of them alone together as she has noticed their eyes linger in each others direction and she can't stand their inaction's about it.
As they start cooking and talking Labrat joins for breakfast, but Jak o' the Wisp is still sleeping. Sirona wants to visit the temple and writes a letter to her family to hand over to them. Adrian also has a message to mail. Sirona also says that she wants to get Irdien something for her eyes as the Drow keep complaining about migraines. It is decided that she will accompany Adrian to the market while the others stay behind to look after Jak and see if Capper comes back.
As the two opens the door to leave Capper is sitting outside. Sirona tells Irdien to give him a mixture of water, sugar and salt.
The market in town does not have livestock, but they do sell some nice goggles and candy that Sirona picks out for Irdien and Labrat. Adrian uses the money the party has earned together to pay for it. They learn that the farmer sells their animals at a place outside of Eldolan that's approximately a half an hours walk from here. They two of them starts heading that way, sharing a small bag of candy.
Jak wakes up and feels strangely naked as if his instrument is gone. He panics and makes a makeshift triangle out of a bed-spring and a piece of string from his pants. Hearing a noise from the hallway, he sneaks out demanding to know who is hiding in the bathroom. He finds out that it is Capper vomiting up whatever he had last night.
Continuing downstairs, he finds Labrat and Irdien. He asks them if they know where his lute is. When they say no, he breaks down sobbing over the table before starting to rummage throw the kitchen in search for alcohol. He opens the stove at one point and finds the discarded drafts of Sirona's letter to her family. It makes him cry even more, and Irdien steps in fetching his lute from its hiding place on the roof and grabbing the letters and returning them to the stove. Jak immediately perks up as a child on... (Christmas?) Almost making Irdien wonder if he was just acting before. He hugs her and then heads over to teach Labrat about the alphabet through a very entertaining song, although unfortunately Labrat doesn't get much learning out from it.
Jak then starts up the writing of the invitations to Garados Kessmir and Arlissa Thent. He swaps to a more hands-on type of education, wording out the letters used in the message first by comparing them to different kinds of meat but then putting them in sentences revolving shoes. He starts pressing Labrat to see if she knows anything about his missing shoes, but she does not break. In the corner behind them, Irdien is rolling her eyes wishing Jak to stop.
At the second market outside of town, Adrian finds a man willing to sell him 30 goats, but he only has 4 of them with him right now, plus a cow he calls Betsy. They make an arrangement that Adrian will leave one of his gems that he got from The Three, The ruby, in exchange for the animals and the farmer will have the stone appraised before going home. Adrian will then later in the day fetch the remainder of the animals directly at the farm. Making sure Sirona doesn't hear him he subtly asks if anyone knows of Raven's hill farm, but nobody does. On their way back to town he suggests they visit a cartography shop to see if they can't find the farm on a map. Sirona agrees although she admits that she does not remember any big city names or landmarks nearby, and does not remember how far they travelled.
The cartographer does not have any maps including the Raven's hill farm, but he also says that his sketches are exclusive of the territory of Eldoland and its immediate surrounding.
After mailing Adrian's letter to his brother, they return to the guildhall where Jak demands that Adrian shows him the magical portal. When he does, it is discovered that the recently added goats have completely ripped Jak's boots to shreds. The bard gets rightfully angry and storms out to get new boots. He wisp's into his ethereal travel form to avoid guards and apparates in The Saddle by an armor shop. As he enters, there is a sharp pain in his side, and he loses consciousness for a moment. When he comes too, he places his order of new boots pretending like nothing out of the ordinary just happened.
Back at the guild house, Sirona lectures the other saying they owe Jak an apology. They eventually agree and shift the subject to the temple visit. Sirona admits that she is afraid that she won't find her family through the means of the temple because her family might not still be looking for her. The others console her saying that they will help. Adrian and Irdien even suggest infiltrating the cult to get information, but Sirona says it is too dangerous. She reveals that she helped Irdiens brother, Ertherin Talvaeth, to escape.
During their talk, Irdien starts working on a letter of her own, but when she notices Adrian comforting Sirona with a hug and kiss on the head, she evacuates to give them some space. The duo decides to leave together for the temple.
