Shields

Shield

Proficiency: PHB
Description: PHB
Use: PHB

Buckler or Defensive Bracers

Proficiency: Characters proficient with light armors are proficient with the buckler and bracers. Using a buckler or bracers without proficiency does not provide any benefit or impose any disadvantages.
Description: Armored bracers cover the forearm and may include gauntlets. The buckler is a small, often round, hand-held no larger than 1 foot in diameter.
Use: The Buckler and Bracers can either provide a bonus to your AC or allow you to use both your hands during combat, your choice. If you are using both hands during your turn, they do not provide any bonus to your AC until the beginning of your next turn.

Body Shield

Proficiency: Characters proficient with shields and heavy armor are also proficient with body shields (Base classes: Fighter, Paladin).
Description: A large cumbersome shield that covers a large portion of the body and provides improved defense against attacks.
Use: The shield limits the offensive capabilities of the user. Any weapon attack made with a weapon other than a versatile piercing weapon held in one hand (such as a spear or trident) is made with -2 to the attack role. This includes spell and weapon attacks, as the shield heavily hampers the wielder’s reach, vision, and maneuverability.

Light Armor

Padded:

Padded armor consists of quilted layers of cloth and batting.

Leather:

The breastplate and shoulder protectors of this armor are made of leather that has been stiffened by being boiled in oil. The rest of the armor is made of softer and more flexible materials.

Studded Leather:

Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.

Polymer Suit:

Ma

Rare Leathers:

Often cured from huge lizards, such as the Thornback Drake, or extremely large Zocouses. Worked mostly by Mnsobek crafters.

Medium Armor

Hide:

This crude armor consists of thick furs and pelts. It is commonly worn by barbarian tribes, evil humanoids, and other folk who lack access to the tools and materials needed to create better armor.

Polyfiber Suit:

A vest and suit made for

Heavy Hide:

Made of giant beasts, thick hide creatures, or other rare and difficult-to-obtain creature hides.

Chitinous Hide:

Made of various parts of giant insect shells.

Razor Scale Male:

Made of scales of Razor Fiend, this armor is smooth and elegant and somewhat effective. It is made of black soft and overlapping scales.

Polymer:

One of the more crude protective armors made by the industrial machine of Edge. Polymer plates overlap each other and cover most of the torso and limbs. While it provides decent protection it is cumbersome and expensive.
