Storm Sorcery (modified)

Storm Sorcery

Level 3: Storm Spells

You learn the following spells without counting them against your known spells. The spells count as sorcerer spells for you.

Sorcerer LevelStorm Spells Learned
3rdThunderclap (Cantrip), Gust (Cantrip), Thunderwave, Shatter
5thCall lightning, Storm Front
7thStorm Sphere, Ice Storm
11thChain Lightning
17thStorm of Vengence

Level 3: Wind Speaker

The arcane magic you command is infused with elemental air. You can speak, read, and write Primordial. Knowing this language allows you to understand and be understood by those who speak its dialects: Aquan, Auran, Ignan, and Terran.

Level 3: Tempestuous Magic (Improved)

You can use a bonus action on your turn to cause whirling gusts of elemental air to surround you, immediately before or after you cast any spell or cantrip. Doing so allows you to fly up to 5 feet times your proficiency bonus (10 feet at 1st level) without provoking opportunity attacks. You lose your flight speed at the beginning of your next turn unless you cast again and use a bonus action to maintain your flight.

You can maintain such flight for up to 1 minute by casting a spell or cantrip and using your bonus action every round.

Level 6: Heart of the Storm (Improved)

You gain resistance to lightning, thunder, and cold damage. In addition, whenever you start casting a spell of 1st level or higher that deals lightning, thunder, or cold damage, stormy magic erupts from you. This eruption causes creatures of your choice that you can see within 10 feet of you to take damage equal to half your sorcerer level of the same damage type.

The range increases to 15 feet at level 12 and 20 feet at level 18.

Level 14: Storm's Fury (Improved)

When you are hit by a melee attack, you can use your reaction to deal lightning, thunder, or cold damage (your choice) to the attacker. The damage equals your sorcerer level. If the attacker is not immune to the damage, it must also make a Strength saving throw against your sorcerer spell save DC. On a failed save, the attacker is pushed in a straight line up to 20 feet away from you and is knocked prone. If the attacker has resistance to the damage type, it has advantage on the Strength save.

Level 18: Wind Soul

You gain immunity to lightning and thunder damage. You also gain a magical flying speed of 60 feet. As an action, you can reduce your flying speed to 30 feet for 1 hour and choose a number of creatures within 30 feet of you equal to 3 + your Charisma modifier. The chosen creatures gain a magical flying speed of 30 feet for 1 hour. Once you reduce your flying speed in this way, you can't do so again until you finish a short or long rest.
