Swashbuckler (5e.24)

Swashbuckler

A duelist that never stands still

You focus your training on the art of the blade, relying on speed, elegance, and charm in equal parts. While some warriors are brutes clad in heavy armor, your method of fighting looks almost like a performance. Duelists and pirates typically belong to this archetype. A Swashbuckler excels in single combat, and can fight with two weapons while safely darting away from an opponent.

Level 3: Fancy Footwork

You can land a strike and then slip away without reprisal. During your turn, if you make a melee attack against a creature, that creature can't make opportunity attacks against you for the rest of your turn.

Level 3: Rakish Audacity

Your confidence propels you into battle. You can give yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Charisma modifier.

You gain an additional way to use your Sneak Attack; you don't need advantage on the attack roll to use your Sneak Attack against a creature if you are within 5 feet of it, no other creatures are within 5 feet of you, and you don't have disadvantage on the attack roll. All the other rules for Sneak Attack still apply to you.

Level 9: Panache

Fighting Style. Select one from the Fighting Style Feats (2024).

Maneuvers. You leaarn two maneuvers of your choice from the “Maneuver Options” section of the Battle Master subclass. Many maneuvers enhance an attack in some way. You can use only one maneuver per attack.

Superiority Dice. You have three Superiority Dice, which are d8s. A Superiority Die is expended when you use it. You regain all expended Superiority Dice when you finish a Short or Long Rest.

Saving Throws. If a maneuver requires a saving throw, the DC equals 8 plus your Dexterity modifier and Proficiency Bonus.

Level 13: Elegant Maneuver

Fighting Style. Select a second from the Fighting Style Feats (2024).

Maneuvers. You learn one additional maneuver.

Superiority Dice. You have four Superiority Dice.

Level 17: Master Duelist

Maneuvers. You learn one additional maneuver.

Superiority Dice. Your Superiority Die becomes a d10. Once per turn, when you use a maneuver, you can roll 1d6 and use the number rolled instead of expending a Superiority Die.
