Born to a father that owned large cattle herds, and a mother that was an academic, focused on history. Grew up comfortable in the family mansion. Had plenty of friends, and plenty of siblings. Was taught his basics by both his parents. Numbers and records are important for cattle herds, plus learning of weather, and predators. History from his mother.
Both his parents are alive and successful. The oldest of his siblings is a sister that does paintings and murals. The next two are his brothers, the older following their mother into academics, the younger in the military where he has made a name for himself and rising rapidly. Then a sister just older, who is a member of the engineers guild. Then comes Volguus and his identical twin brother Hyjyl. While Volguus exhibited talent for magic early, Hyjyl did not. Hyjyl made a deal with a celestial being for power. Next comes two younger brothers. The older of the two, a priest to Enweh. The baby of the family, planning on taking over for their father.
Volguus left home early, when he exhibited magical potential. He found an old library, and while going through it was discovered by a wizard and taken as an apprentice. He worked for the master wizard for decades getting his basics down, and readying himself for a life exploring this new power and what it would require of him. During this time he fell in love with a halfling weaver in a nearby village. Sadly it did not last. He didn't want to give up his dreams of power to settle down, and they parted ways amicably.
After leaving his apprenticeship he grouped up with a few others. One of whom he became friends with, a human rogue named Rachel. They ended up in several adventures together. One of which was way outside what they should have gotten involved in. Rescuing a the daughter of a dairy farmer, a half-elf girl named Orla from being sacrificed. During that escapade they were tempted by the demon the girl was to be sacrificed to. Rachel and Volguus were both able to resist the temptation. A powerful angel showed up and closed the portal, and for saving an innocent life and not succumbing to temptation he was offered a wish. Volguus did not make the best use of it. On the way out they found a few potions, and Volguus drank one during a fight with some cultist during their escape. Rachel made much better use of her wish. Though still friendly she left to make her own way in the world. Orla vowed to follow him, since she owed him her life.
Volguus has done a few odd adventures, tasks, bounties, etc. Looking for a new group, since Rachel left and the others weren't the same after making a deal with that devil.
