World Events Timeline

The main Timeline of the world, featuring major events in chronological order, this does not include festivals or minor events, only world events or events felt globally.

The Beginning < 0

The start of all things the outer god created the world as a sort of experiment, one that would bring great entertainment.

As the world reaches the great maturation and develop its own will the outer god lost the ability to directly manipulate the world and to an extend the ability to influence or interact with its inhabitants, only able to exert control indirectly over it, this caused a great deal of frustration to the entity.

Great Maturation 50,000 — 100,000

As the world matured it gained its own will labeled fate and began to naturally disperse its life force (mana).

As this happened the world spawned the first sentient life forms.

The world and fate sat idle as they allowed the creatures to develop themselves whilst free from interference, it was only later during the age of creation that fate began to dictate the path of civilization.

The Golden Age 100,000 — 101,000

The age of creation:

The world allowed for its inhabitants to thrive granting them the resources to do so, eventually its inhabitants learned how to utilize the worlds life force by resonating with its “song”, and this was how the first mages came to be.

Originally magic or “resonance” was quite primitive, focusing on harnessing only the elements and mostly empowering the body or other natural processes. Over time it expanded to the more unconventional uses or applications that we see today.

As magic became prominent kingdoms formed and there was an age of development as peace reigned, races worked together to develop technology and magic and ultimately better the common collective of species together.

  • Era of Myth

The last hundred years of the Golden age

Civilizations and magic hit their peak

It was a time where gods and heroes roamed the world,

Magic development and engineering hit its peak as civilizations advanced tens of millions of lives spawned daily

Most ruins are from this age they possess powerful magic items, resources and technology. A time where mortals turned Gods by the dozen.

The Collapse

The collapse:

“The last war” the gods and their chosen fought for hundreds of years, initially small the conflict expanded in reach and intensity to where even the gods themselves got involved.

When everyone had power and desire to rule the future only held war.

As the gods began to fight the world struggled to maintain itself as such immense levels of magic forming and dispersing commonly caused damage to the earth around it.

After a century the world had reached its limit as the very veining tethers of reality started to collapse as the world split into many pieces hundreds of millions died, as well as many gods had fell from the conflict and the instability of reality itself.

The result is the world we have today, a fragmented piece of a greater world split into thousands of different pieces, reality itself is often unstable as well casting distortions of worldly laws and anomalous to form commonly.

As the worlds split so did the realms, the instability of reality made it near impossible to travel between realms, meaning the few gods that remained were unable to return down to the physical plane where their kingdoms reigned. And we’re stuck in an ethereal plane where only their pantheons existed or what remained of them as only a few of the tens of thousands

Of false gods remained the war alongside the shattering of worlds had taken most if not all out. This alongside the interference of an outer entity caused the few remaining gods to isolate in solitude as even the world and fate itself target the remaining gods as to prevent another tragedy such as before.

The Great Fragmentation > 101,000

The once large world fragmented into thousands of Sub-worlds, some existing as entirely isolated planes and true worlds in of themselves. Some gateways still exist to travel between these realms though knowledge of them is mostly lost.

One of these great worlds Is Lumen.

Before Constellias Fall 101,000 — 106,000

A time of prosperity for Lumen, a time where magic returned to its people and a golden age followed. This age has the rise and falls of the Archae Empire. Much of the old world was left behind after the end of this Era.

  • The Archae Empire

The Adretian Empire was a key power in the world during the so-called "Golden age", an era where the song first played across the realm and a new study called Magic was found. In the Golden Age the powers were so proficient and accomplished in their exploration of the land and sea that they turned toward the stars, reaching out toward new worlds that had fragmented off from the Desert. Much of this old Empire was lost when the water levels rose and the fog from the weave set in, many old-world continents and cities spanning the sky were swallowed as Lumen fell deep into the weave. This so-called Golden Age still exists deep within the Depths of Lumen, a realm foreign to many of the surface dwellers of today, though rumor has it some factions are devising ways to regain knowledge from the past.

  • Invention of Runecraft

After Constellias Fall > 0

  • Rise of The World Government

    1176

The World Government, the second world power after the Archae empire first rose.

The world government was a force that held all of Lumen within the palms of its hands, its leader serving as the closest living example of a god. With a simple wave of its hand, the skies parted and providence descended.

  • Otherworlders Entry

    2161

Gabriel and Elowen enter the world of Lumen. Two figures that will permanently change Lumens history. After many years, Gabriel has finally returned to his homeland, to face the ultimate curse of his people.

  • Fall of the World Government

    2176

300 years before the campaign starts the empire that lasted for 1000 years fell, some say it's due to the rising tides that came alongside the invasion of the otherworldly gods.

    Extended lore: Extended-Lore-Eskor - Notes

  • Eskor's Fall — Session Recap The session opened aboard a warship hovering at the edge of Old Eskor, where Captain Dralis Error briefed the assembled battalions. A continental sigil was being activated by the Eskorian powers—a mad plan to tear their world apart using their own people as the cost. The adventurers were given eight hours to evacuate what they could, with your group assigned to the capital to retrieve information and the king himself. Teleportation sigils were distributed as failsafes, but the weight of the mission was clear: millions would die without intervention. Stepping onto Eskor's shores, the first signs of the cataclysm revealed themselves immediately. Luden, a Godkin, felt their divine connection waver and suppress under something ancient. The road to the capital was blocked by a gravitational anomaly—jagged rock claws surrounding a collapsing void in the earth. The party skirted through warped trees, horses panicked, and soon they reached a barren town where children's clothes had been dragged into a pulsating crack in the ground. Inside a house, they found a weeping child hidden in a cabinet—except the child was an illusion, a lure for something far worse. A Harvester, a floating mass of tendrils that mimics entire cities, struck. The horse was rendered to pulp, Luden was thrown back by an invisible force, and the party barely escaped on Eloan's remaining mount. As they fled, the true scale of the disaster revealed itself: anomalies bloomed across the horizon, patches of land floated into the sky, and something beyond comprehension was descending. An eclipse swallowed the sun—something not seen in four thousand years—and a quarter of the capital, Seltor, was erased in an instant. The party infiltrated the palace under the cover of darkness and Burns' chameleon skin. At the gates, a nine-foot knight in black plate mail stood guard. The fight was brutal—Eloan toppled the knight with a precise strike to the ankle, Luden entangled him with golden vines, and the guardian was executed with a calculated slash to the jugular. Inside, the palace was beautiful but empty, the walls covered in frantic scholarly inscriptions about gods hiding something, about something they feared to wield. In the throne room, King Arshka Stalwart sat watching his kingdom fall apart in ecstasy. He revealed the truth: the gods had left a summoning sigil on Eskor a thousand years ago, something they couldn't destroy but couldn't control. His people had found it, and now the thing it called was returning. Luden tried to teleport the king away but failed against a magical barrier. Eloan struck the crystal maintaining it, and the king was exposed—but he bore no hostility, only madness and acceptance. Luden escaped through the sigil first, leaving the others to face the king's final moments. Eloan attempted to slit his throat but was repulsed across the room, caught by Burns. The king's back bore the sigil carved in black ink, searing his flesh as the cataclysm consumed him. Eloan grabbed his crown of golden thorns as his body crumbled to crystalline dust. In the final seconds, Burns grabbed Eloan, they activated the teleportation sigil, and vanished back to the warship as a pillar of light consumed the entire continent of Eskor—four seconds, then nothing. The party survived. The king was dead. The sigil had been activated. Something was coming.
  • Rise of the New world Powers

    2179

In the absence of the world government a vacuum was left. To fill it the stragglers of the last world power fled to a smaller continent called New Eskor, and the hidden force of the east the Eastern Authority used this opportunity to lay claims to a majority of the Eastern Luminant and secure all lighthouses in and out of it.

Rise of the Authority and the World government Remnants. The hundred legions in the West and some other major factions gained additional land and control during this period.

  • Assassination of Head of House Aratel

    14th of Resono 2176

The head of a noble house in The kingdom of Erisia was murdered.

  • First session of online game

A group of unlikely patrons meet in a bar run by Saul. A dragonkin, a princess, a fugitive, and a curse spawn. Formalities go as they do until Atsial recognized the Princess Nixie's heritage. Immediately running to avoid capture. Nixie soon followed confronting him in an alley way, with the others soon following. Here they met our final hero, Crinkle Cut an illusionary Gnome.

With the threat of capture Atsial led the group to his apartment, where they met our fearless companion Lenix. The parties rest was not long as assassins came to kill Atsial and soon after guards to capture them.

The session ends with the party heading to the nameless tavern, meeting Simon the alchemist and a child named Miyu.

Nixie also had some unwarrented aggression toward the innkeep due to Miyus lost pet.

  • Session 2-3 of the online game

The ontoclasmic seep began, a sinkhole formed in the bar as the party struggled to get out, after the first invaders made their way into the bar. Instantly the party ran upstairs and locked themselves in a bathroom.

Upon coming out and viewing the town they found several large cracks all around town with strange creatures coming out. As the party attempted to flee the town they assisted guards, felled creatures and even fell into the old sewer system in an attempt to avoid the creatures. Nixie fell face first into the water rendering her unconscious, here A Vow Lightly Madeoccured Nixie made a vow with Nockto touch the void crack.

The party split with half acquiring a vessel and the other half assisting nixie, during this time the invasion only worsened as warships in the horizion began to lob artillery toward the town. When Nixie touched the crack something in her awakened, but it nearly cost her life, with her mission complete the party regrouped in the ship storehouse and escaped sorpo.

Session ends with an authority warship sailing directly toward them.

  • Ontoclasmic Seep In the Erisian town Sorpo

    15th of Oro

A dangerous overlap of worlds spawned a small-scale otherworldly invasion, destroying an entire town. The Authority captured the survivors and are taking them to Old Eskor.

  • Heavens Omen

    2476-4-15

A strange event that occurred the day the First campaign started

:The day it all began, a full moon in Oma, the first time in decades that Oma started and ended with a new moon." - The DM

    Field Report 22

    Scholars Guild: Greater Erisian Branch

    Ontoclasmic Event: Greater Erisian Coasts

    Participants: Fern-Simons, Arial Eiad , Johnny-Crow

Ontoclasmic seeps reached record highs all throughout Lumen, high traces of "divinity" seeped from these cracks and for the entire duration of this event all forms of divination magic were rendered inert within the entire Luminant. During this period guild pathfinders located the primary source of these "vents" to be centered somewhere around Greater Erisia, traveling through the town of Sorpo found abnormally high amounts of mana in the air something abnormal for the Central Luminaries.

Investigations run throughout Sorpo and nearby towns found signs of heavy amnesia and moderate psychological damage through a majority of residents present in the town during the 24 hour period. Reports claim a common sense of hysteria and fear for something, each description of this creature has been different though all reports and claims suggest some otherworld creature or creatures perhaps  entered the Coastal areas of Greater Erisia during that day.

Joint meetings with Erisian Scholars found slight topological inconsistencies within the terrain surrounding Sorpo specifically, noticeable changes but not enough to cause issues. Additionally the Princess of Erisia was said to have been kidnapped by something during this period, its currently unknown whether the offender was simply another etrean or something else.

Once the period had concluded all anomylous readings returned to expected levels, were currently unaware of the cause of this Ontoclasmic Event but our scholars are adamantly theorizing the cause. Perhaps something to do with the strange Lunar events, the month started and ended with a new moon, having a full moon just in the middle on the same day the seeps occurred.

Perhaps this was simply an omen, only time will tell.

    Branch leader,

    Fern Simons

    End Report

  • Session 4, Captured by Authority Warships

Meeting an Authority warship on Erisian  coast is no common matter, seeing this the party tried as they could to flee or escape the situation, to the point the captain put them all to sleep to be inspected and stored in sanctuary.

Upon waking up in the inspection room Herald led them into sanctuary, a dream so to speak within the warship. The party explored the town tempted the guards at the tower gates and ended with antagonizing the captain of the warship and Alluding to the presence of more nobility within sanctuary.

  • Northern Shift

    16th of Oro

An anomalous event that occurred in the Northern Luminant.

    Field Report 23

    Scholars Guild: Greater Erisian Branch

    Anomylous Event: Northen Luminant

    Participants: Fern-Simons

Only a day after the Ontoclasmic event another anomylous event was documented. Our Arc-ometers initially detected small readings of Mana caught within the northern winds. Throughout the 16th of Oro the readings gradually increased, slowly but surely something was coming, and as always my intuition is correct. While the ambient mana slowly grew our field teams searched for a cause within the neighboring luminants. Unfortunately investigating the northern luminanant directly is impossible due to topological limitations. As the sun began to set the ambient mana had reached its peak, and all souls watching held their prayers close.

Around sunset it occurred, starting small with faint streaks of light seen far north, to eventually a collum of light forming. A grand pillar far deeper into the north than previously thought possible. This pillar lit up the sky, acting as a beacon for forces we could not begin to imagine. With the emergence of this pillar bursts of concentrated mana seeped into the surrounding luminants. The northern walls failed to contain whatever phenomenon occurred within it.

Despite the grandiose nature of this anomaly it ended as swiftly as it began, once the sun set the pillar dispersed. Unfortunately deeper investigations unto the cause of this event are seemingly impossible, despite joint efforts no group has managed to pierce through the northern divides. However there is some merit in researching the events affects on the other luminants. With a guildwide investigation effort most avenues of lument bore no fruit, though remember I said most, not all. Much to our surprise clerics all throughout lumen reported unusually high levels of prophecies or visions within a six hour period following the event. These reports arent limited to just those surrounding the northern region, many clerics even within the Central Lumen  support these claims. Perhaps this event came from something greater, perhaps from the starkindred up above, maybe a sign of change from those silent wardens.

    Only time shall tell.

    Yours Truly,

    Branch leader,

    Fern Simons

    End Report

  • Knives of Elyis one shot

The game begins with the party sitting around a round table with a client. Their organization sent the mercenary group to handle a contract for a high value client. Jericho. As the group sat Jericho eyed the group, Rin, Delmatar, Artemis, Nix, and Aedion. While most of the party sat humoring the client and gathering information Artemis served as a scout near the docks. During her scouting she saw an authority prison sloop dock and begin to load supplies from the local warehouse. Patty learned of the objective, to assassinate Authority war captain Earnest Rossnick. Though the mission was clear the contractor offered little limitations or stipulations. The group could do as they pleased as long as they killed the target, with even a bonus of several hundred platinum if they managed to sink or destroy the warship. Jericho suggested the party capture and utilize the docked authority ship nearby for transport. With that the party set off. Storms rolling in from the north were already pouring down in Haxford. The party traveled quickly to the docks to avoid lingering in the rain. Upon regrouping with Artemis they began their takeover of the small prisoner ship. Artemis and delmatar used the threat of a false disease to force their way into the ship, with very minor effort the party drove away all the guards from the ship. With the authority ship captured the party set off. Artemis served as a navigator while the rest took time to recuperate. Aedion in the under deck sat troubled, never had they pushed themselves to such a point of vulnerability. With the contractor offering a blank check as payment the organization practically forced the squad to act. He realized they knew next to nothing about the ship or its armaments, the situation felt almost like a trap. While this happened the ambient mana slowly rose as the storm rolled in, alongside this many clerics around lumen found their connection to their patrons disrupted or entirely nullified temporarily. Aiden had already discerned the magical nature of the storm, and noted the rarity a magical storm in the central Luminant is. The party set sail as the storm grew much worse, pouring rain and rolling fog, as eventually a pirate ship caught wind of the authority flag and attacked their ship, they went in for a ramming maneuver but luckily for delmatars quick thinking he destroyed their helm crippling their ship. Unfortunately Rin designed to board their ship alone. Rin killed all but one of the bandits, carving fear into the heart of the survivor. Rin walked toward the dying captain healing him in exchange for his spoils, he agreed and once she turned her back critically succeeded in shooting her in the side of the neck nearly killing her. In response she paralyzed him, pressed the barrel of his own gun toward his head and executed him. Once the party reconvened they transferred their goods to the new ship and set sail forcing their captured Gill, a former navigator Gremor, to sail due north. Eventually the warship came into view, a gargantuan force sailing the sea, its deck standing nearly 40 feet off the sea water. While the party panicked on what to do the warship discovered and moved to capture them. After getting the party aboard and inspecting them Herald started moving them to sanctuary. This is when the Northern Shift event happened and a large pillar of light spawned far north, drawing their target War Captain Earnest Rossneck out to the stage. Finding their target Delmatar went to persuade them, the Captain, a veteran and authority tool for centuries, immediately went into the offensive seeing through their guise. Starting the gruesome combat the group goes back and forth until the captain activates his resonance and hemokinesis. As the captain is badly injured he summons reinforcements, the guards swiftly execute a downed Delmatar as Aiden has jumped overboard rin is floating in the water Artemis is hiding in another plane and Nix is holding the line. As the battle comes to a close a foreign power overtakes Artemis, the god Bear enters to save their followers hidden within sanctuary and instantly kills the captain and his guards. In the final moments Rin calls out to this power she sensed instead of her own god, in response it takes her to a dreamlike realm and crushes her, following that the entire party is teleported to the ship that Gill the navigator has fled with. As the signal flare stays in the air the other mercenary ships sail toward the warship ready to take it down. Though their success is unlikely. This session caused the descent event to move closer and two separate world events to occur. With Earnest Rossneck assassinated and the warship attacked the central Authority now has a valid reason to push more military forces into the central Luminant. Also the intervention of Bear has broken the balance and will allow other gods to intervene in the future. Rin gained a mark form an unknown god.
