FOIL Alignment System

F.O.I.L.S.A

 FAITH - ORDER - IDENTITY - LENIENCY - STRESS - ADAPTIBILITY

The Why: Faith/Order

The How: Identity/Leniency

The Spirit: Stress/Adaptability

F - Faith represents faith towards others, whether it be ideas, myths, concepts, or people its not strictly limited to gods. It's a measure of how willing one is to trust.

O - Order represents how well defined/understood the persons moral compass is. How consistent their beliefs and actions are. How close their beliefs align with their reality.

I - Identity represents where someone finds their strength and where they place value. It's a measure of how much a person values others versus how much they value themselves. Selfless or selfish.

L - Leniency represents how much aggression one is willing to tolerate. It's a measure of how forgiving or unforgiving a character is.

S - Stress represents how much a character can handle before reaching their breaking point, how much physical, mental and emotional strain one can handle before they break. It's a measure of how tenacious a character is.

How this works:

You pick attributes that define how a character is likely to behave and what motivates or doesn't motivate them. Within this system there is no truly neutral option, in the rare instance a character is truly neutral on a subject you may exclude that section or sections.

An example of this would be a war forged they may fall under Faith Order and Identity but fall short under Leniency due to their artificial nature.

A War forged
without Leniency wouldn't hold a grudge out of anger; they simply register a "Threat" that has not been dealt with. They lack the capacity for the emotional weight of forgiveness or resentment.
