The Snarl Family is a goblin kin-clan turned raiding crew, led by the triplets Snip, Whisk, and Grit but packed with cousins, uncles, aunts, and quick-learning kids. They ride hyenas, camp in rotating gullies across Canyonstep Country, and treat raiding as a family business: scouts mark easy targets, riders rush in for purses and light freight, and everyone scatters on a whistle before a posse can form. They avoid armed caravans and won’t stand a fair fight; their aim is speed, not blood.

Inside the clan, shares and chores are strict—loot is tallied, mounts fed first, and disputes settled by the triplets’ call. The Snarl fence goods fast in Red Jack and stash the rest in dry side canyons only they can read. Locals curse them, but the Snarl rarely kills unless cornered, and they sometimes trade news or lost stock for water and a day’s peace. Cross them and they vanish for weeks; tempt them with easy coin and they’ll take the job—so long as it doesn’t smell like a trap.
