History
The Ironbanners was founded by a group of exiled warriors and merchants who were cast out of their communities for their opposition to the oppressive policies of the Silver Dominion. They banded together to form a brotherhood dedicated to fighting against the Jarls loyal to the Dominion, conducting raids and smuggling operations to steal the taxes and tariffs given to the Dominion and giving it back to the people of Kalamar who are in need. Over the years, the Ironbanners have become known for their cunning tactics and strategic planning. They are actively hunted by the knights of the Dominion.
Abilities
The Ironbanners are skilled in a variety of areas, including combat, stealth, and espionage. Many of their members are former soldiers or mercenaries who bring their fighting skills to the brotherhood, while others are traders who use their knowledge of the local economy and trade routes to help plan raids and smuggling operations.
Hierarchy
At the top of the Ironbanners' hierarchy is the Iron Father, who is the founder and head of the whole operation. The Iron Father is a master tactician who oversees all of their actions. Beneath the Iron Father are the Iron Shepherds, a title given to the eyes and ears within the major cities. They are spies who collect information about trade routes and trade agreements. Lastly the Ironblades, they are the muscle and foot soldiers of the faction.
Issac Ironeyes, also known as the "Iron Father," is the founder and leader of the Ironbanners. He was born into a noble family as the younger brother of the Duke, but he was exiled from his privileged life and established the Ironbanners to fight for the people's rights. He is a master tactician and strategist, able to plan and execute successful raids and smuggling operations against the Jarls loyal to the Silver Dominion. Despite his high birth, Issac is respected by the members of the Ironbanners and is seen as one of their own. He is known for his charisma and leadership skills, as well as his ability to inspire his followers to continue their fight against the oppressive Silver Dominion.
Iron Shepard: Eva Shadowfoot, a former thief and spy who joined the Ironbanners after her family was killed by the Silver Dominion. She is skilled in stealth and infiltration, and is responsible for gathering information about trade routes and agreements in the major cities. Eva is known for her sharp wit and cunning, and is highly respected by the other members of the Ironbanners for her contributions to the cause.
Iron Shepard: Vane Longfingers, a skilled lockpicker and safecracker who is responsible for stealing the taxes and tariffs given to the Silver Dominion. Vane is a former member of a criminal gang, but he joined the Ironbanners after he was exiled for disobeying his gang leader's orders to kill innocent people. He is known for his quick hands and ability to bypass even the most complex locks and security systems.
Ironblade: Leena Steelheart, a fierce warrior who serves as the Ironbanners' enforcer. She is highly skilled in combat, able to take on multiple opponents at once with her two-handed sword. Leena is known for her unflinching loyalty to the Ironbanners and her willingness to do whatever it takes to protect the people of Kalamar. Despite her fearsome reputation, she is respected by her fellow Ironbanners for her courage and honor.
Beliefs & Goals
The Ironbanners believe that they are saviors rather than traitors, as they see themselves as fighting for the people of Kalamar against the oppressive policies of the Silver Dominion. Their main goal is to steal from the greedy and give to the needy, ensuring that the people of Kalamar are taken care of. They also aim to undermine the power of the Dominion by stealing their taxes and tariffs, causing financial strain on their resources.
Guild Rules
The Ironbanners have a set of guild rules that guide their actions. These rules include "Steal from the greedy, give to the needy", which reflects their belief that the people of Kalamar come first. They also believe in planning carefully before taking action, with the rule "The more we plan, the more we take and give". However, they do not shy away from violence if necessary, as reflected in their final rule, "Take everything you can but someone's life".
Hideout
The Ironbanners' secret hideout is known as the "Ironhaven". It is located deep within a vast chasm beneath the bustling port town of Doun. The entrance to Ironhaven is carefully hidden among the jagged rocks of the coastline outside of the town, making it nearly impossible to find without insider knowledge.
Once inside, visitors are led down a long and winding tunnel that eventually opens up into a massive cavern. The cavern is divided into several sections, each serving a different purpose. One section is dedicated to the storage of supplies and equipment, another is used as a barracks for the Ironbanners, and a third serves as a training area where members can practice their combat skills.
Perhaps the most impressive feature of Ironhaven is the series of underground lakes that run through the chasm and out to the sea. The Ironbanners use these hidden waterways to smuggle goods in and out of Doun, allowing them to avoid detection by the Dominion's authorities.
Despite its strategic importance to the Ironbanners, Ironhaven is not without its dangers. The chasm is prone to flooding, and the lakes can be treacherous for those who are unfamiliar with their depths. Nevertheless, the Ironbanners have managed to create a formidable stronghold in the heart of enemy territory, from which they can launch their raids and strikes against the Jarls loyal to the Silver Dominion.
