Vane Longfingers is a notorious thief and a skilled lockpicker, known throughout Kalamar for his daring heists and his ability to crack any safe or lock. He is a former member of a criminal gang, but he left the gang after he was ordered to kill innocent people. Vane has a moral code and cannot abide by killing innocents. After leaving the gang, Vane joined the Ironbanners, a group of rebels fighting against the Silver Dominion. He uses his expertise in lockpicking and safecracking to steal taxes and tariffs heading to the Silver Dominion, depriving them of resources and funding for their oppressive rule. Vane has become a key member of the Ironbanners, and is responsible for several major heists that have significantly weakened the Silver Dominion.
Vane is known for his quick hands and his ability to bypass even the most complex locks and security traps. He is a meticulous planner and a master of disguise, able to blend in seamlessly with his surroundings. He has become a close friend of the Ironbanners' leader, Issac Ironeyes, and the two work closely together on many of the group's operations. Despite his criminal past, Vane has a strong sense of loyalty and a desire to make up for his past mistakes. He believes that the people of Kalamar deserve freedom from the Silver Dominion's tyranny and is willing to risk his life to achieve that goal. He has become a hero to many in the rebellion and a thorn in the side of the Silver Dominion.
