Greenfield, the largest region within the barony of Rivermond, is a land of diverse and contrasting landscapes, peoples, and resources. Dominated by the prominent cities of Whitechapel, Shoremond, Windelcrest, and Greenfield itself, this region serves as a crucial hub for the barony's economy, military strength, and cultural heritage. Each city, governed by its own Lord or Lady, contributes uniquely to the rich tapestry of Greenfield.

Geography:

Greenfield, the largest region in Rivermond, is a barony of immense geographical diversity, rich cultural tapestry, and formidable military strength. Its landscape is primarily characterized by flatlands and rocky areas, but it also boasts the rugged terrain of the Grandfield in the northwest, where hidden glades and grasslands are scattered amidst the mountains. This region is notorious for its wild dragons and wyverns, making it a treacherous yet mystical part of the barony. The Stormwoods, centrally located, add an element of danger and mystery, often avoided by commonfolk due to their deadly nature.

People and Economy:

The people of Greenfield are as diverse as its geography. The mining city of Whitechapel is home to a hardy population, skilled in extracting precious minerals and metals from the earth. This industrious city contributes significantly to the barony's economy through its mines and the craftsmanship of its blacksmiths and artisans. Shoremond, the bustling port city under the watch of the Holmes family, is a melting pot of cultures and trades, with merchants and sailors from distant lands mingling with local traders. Its economy thrives on maritime trade, fishing, and shipbuilding, making it a vital hub for commerce. Windelcrest, known as the dragon city, is ruled by the Winfield family and is unique due to its coexistence with dragons. The city's inhabitants are renowned for their knowledge of dragon lore and their skills in training and riding these majestic creatures. Greenfield itself, the barony's capital, ruled by the Shores family and is a vibrant city where the Arcane Academy stands as a beacon of magical prowess. The academy attracts mages from various paths, contributing to the city's reputation as a center of learning and magical research. Edgewater Port, under the watch of the Hamilton family provide sailors of all paths, fishermen to pirate hunters.

Economically, Greenfield is one of the most prosperous regions in Rivermond. Whitechapel's mining industry provides valuable resources that fuel both local industries and trade with neighboring regions. Shoremond's port facilitates extensive trade networks, bringing wealth and goods from across the seas. The agricultural flatlands supply ample food, sustaining the population and supporting trade. Windelcrest, with its unique dragon-related commerce, offers rare dragon knowledge and gear, which are highly prized. Windelcrest also houses the Grandhalls College, a prestigious institution of higher learning that focuses on politics, history, and military strategy. It is renowned for its rigorous academic standards and its highly skilled faculty. The arcane academy in Greenfield also adds to the economy, as it attracts scholars, researchers, and students who contribute to the local economy through their patronage of goods and services.

Military Strength:

In terms of military strength, Greenfield stands as a formidable force within Rivermond. The barony can potentially raise an army of thirty thousand men during times of conflict. Each city within Greenfield contributes to this strength in distinctive ways. Windelcrest, known for its dragons, can field up to one thousand footsoldiers, two hundred Dragon Knights, and potentially fifty dragons, creating a unique and powerful combat force. Whitechapel, with its mining wealth, can deploy up to two thousand footsoldiers and five hundred knights. Falktown offers five hundred footsoldiers, one hundred riflemen, and fifty Gryph Riders, while Shoremond contributes between two thousand and three thousand footsoldiers and two hundred knights. Edgewater Port, though smaller in footsoldiers with about five hundred, boasts a formidable naval strength. The city of Greenfield itself is a military stronghold with the capability to muster up to twelve thousand footsoldiers, two thousand knights, eight hundred mounted soldiers, and an uncertain number of battle mages, adding a layer of magical prowess to its military might. This diverse and well-rounded military capacity underpins Greenfield's status as one of the most powerful baronies in the region, reflecting its strategic importance and its readiness to defend its interests and maintain its influence.

Greenfield

The city of Greenfield is large and sprawling with businesses and homes.
It is mainly known as an academic city thanks to the Arcane Academy,
many scholars and students of the arcane come through the city which
has made it grow fast. 
The city is surrounded by stone walls but lacks
defensive towers and rely much on smaller watchtowers and the knowing
of the Academy defenses.

Whitechapel

Whitechapel, once a booming city of rich mining before they mined everything. The city now sits upon countless mining tunnels and empty riverbeds. The few mines that are still operating are running thin on resources and rumours coming out from the city say things lurk in the dark reaches of the old mines and even within the city streets at night. The city is forever covered in ashened clouds which blocks much of the sun and the city houses various gladiator games to entertain the population. Former miners have become gladiators in hope of gaining coin and fame.

Windelcrest

The city of Windelcrest sits next to the Grandfields and have been home to the majority of Greenfield's knights. Famous for old dragon hunting knights and general tales of heroism. The Lords of the city have recently managed to strike terms with several adult and even ancient dragons to have peace. The dragon hunting have become forbidden, almost taboo but some still hold onto the old ways but without the support of the city. What was once a city of famous dragon hunters is now a city of dragon riders. Some dragons take the form on the common folk or nobility to live among them, to learn and to teach. Lesser dragons are trained and bond with skilled dragon knights.

Shoremond

Shoremond, a booming trade hub for all of Rivermond, many trading vessels come through their port to import and export various goods. The city has suffered from criminal activities due to the lack of local city guard.

Falktown

Falktown is a small town on the road between Whitechapel and Windelcrest. Its a farming town and but have one of the most advanced soldiers in the region. Lord Von Keiner invests heavily in Vache inventions to improve farming and firearms for his new militia.

Hillburg

A very small hamlet with not much to it however it lies on the road that goes between Whitechapel and Falktown. There were rumours of it being haunted by something but that appeared to have stopped after The Dominus Chain built a military fort next to Hillburg.

Bekvik

Bekvik is a small fishing village on the east coast of Greenfield. One of the more peaceful places in the region apart from one supposed haunted manor outside of the village.

Edgewater Port

Edgewater is the second largest port in the Greenfield region. It has a strong fishing business but majority of its business comes from its shipyards where they built boats and ships. The port has a strong military presense where many warships are built and crews are trained.

Whalerun Port

This is a small port and is home to one of the oldest fishing communities in Rivermond. They are known for their whaling and oil production however it is a seasonal business and when the fishermen are off season the port sits upon a sapphire deposit. There are few open mines where people work at times.
