Beatrice Winfield, the wife of Martin Winfield, is a woman of great intellect and quiet grace. She is often found in her library, surrounded by books and ancient tomes, seeking knowledge and understanding of the world around her. Martin often turns to her for counsel and advice, valuing her wisdom and insights. Beatrice had a difficult childhood, growing up in a noble family where she was expected to marry for political advantage rather than love. She was eventually married off to Martin, but was pleasantly surprised to find that he was a kind and honorable man, and they developed a deep love for each other over time.
One day, while Beatrice was out exploring the woods around Windelcrest, she was attacked by a small wyvern. As she lay there, wounded and helpless, she was rescued by a larger dragon who fought off the wyvern and carried her back to safety. This experience had a profound impact on Beatrice, and it sparked Martin's desire to find a way to coexist with the dragons. Beatrice and Martin have two children together, a son named Edward and a daughter named Charlotte. Edward is currently serving as a Squire in the for Aimon Blackeye, while Charlotte is being groomed to take over as Lady of Windelcrest when her parents pass on. Both children have been brought up with the same sense of honor and duty as their father, but also with a deep respect for the dragons and the peace that has been established in the City of Dragons.
