Storm Whales are enormous ray-like beasts that migrate from the Imperial Bay and across the Lunora skies to the northern coasts outside of the Kami Concord. It is believed they migrate to the cold waters up north to deliver their young where they quickly become accustomed to the cold waters. They remain in those waters for the majority of the year before they are able to fly and take on the journey back to the Imperial bay. Their name Storm Whales was given because their first encounters with people was during stormy wheather and their were seen silhouetted among the clouds of the thunderstorms. It later became apparent that whenever they did migrate heavy thunderstorms and violant hurricanes would follow. Unknown if they cause the weather pattern to change or that they track the weather themselves.
They are creatures of myth as not many have seen them but many hear about them due to their association with bad weather. However they are also creatures of fortune for those that know about them up close because they have a special type of barnacle living on them that are worth their weight in platinum to the right buyer. Several fishermen have attempted to track them down within the Imperial bay but has failed, the Storm whales live in very deep depths where the barnacle latches onto them. No net or cage can reach them. Eventually fishermen attempted to wait for their migration when they rise from the seabed into the sky, they violantly attacked the pods, just to get their hands on the barnacle. When the Imperial authorities found out what was going on they quickly made it forbidden to disturb or harm the Storm whales. It is said the fishermen who took part in the hunt at sea suffered divine retribution by the Five. No fishermen dare get close to those open waters to fish.
That however has not stopped some daring airship Captains. Captain Proudtail of the The Cloudcutter actively hunt Storm whales during their migration flight across the Lunora skies. However they do not harm the whales during their hunt, they have brave crew members who jump onto the backs of the creatures in order to collect the valuable barnacls.
