The Grandfields of the Greenfield barony is a vast and treacherous region located in the northwestern part of the barony. It is a place where few dare to venture, as it is known to be inhabited by many wild dragons and wyverns. The terrain is rough and mountainous, with well-hidden glades and grasslands.
Despite its dangers, the Grandfields have a rich and storied history. Legends say that it was once ruled by an ancient dragon king who hoarded great treasures and ruled over the land with an iron fist. It is said that the dragon king was eventually defeated by a band of brave knights, who took his treasure and distributed it among the people. In the centuries since then, many adventurers and treasure hunters have attempted to find the dragon king's hoard, but none have succeeded.
The nobility of Windelcrest has had a complex relationship with the dragons of the Grandfields. At times, they have been at war with the dragons, attempting to drive them out of the region. However, at other times, they have reached a truce with several of the dragons, allowing them to remain in the Grandfields in exchange for keeping the peace and not attacking any humans who venture into the region. Currently there is a standing truce between some dragons and the city of Windelcrest.
There are few living in the Grandfields, and those that do are often isolated and self-sufficient. The people who live in the Grandfields are hardy and resourceful, and have developed many unique skills to survive in the harsh environment. They are known for their hunting and trapping skills, as well as their knowledge of the land and its dangers.
Despite the dangers, there are still those who venture into the Grandfields in search of adventure or treasure. Some are successful, returning with rare and valuable dragon scales or other treasures. Others are not so lucky, falling victim to the fierce predators or succumbing to the harsh elements. For most, the Grandfields remain a place of mystery and legend, a place to be admired from afar but never ventured into lightly.
