The Hallucinogenic Grenade is a specialized tool that contains a potent gas capable of inducing vivid hallucinations in living creatures. Encased in a glass vial, this grenade is designed to disperse the hallucinogenic gas upon impact, affecting nearby targets with captivating illusions. The Hallucinogenic Grenade is primarily utilized for diversion, distraction, or psychological manipulation. It is often employed by infiltrators, tricksters, or individuals seeking to disorient or confuse their enemies. By creating illusions derived from a target's deeper memories, the grenade can sow doubt and confusion among those affected.

To use the Hallucinogenic Grenade, a character must take an action to throw it at a point up to 60 feet away. Once the grenade shatters upon impact, it releases the hallucinogenic gas, affecting creatures within a 10-foot radius of the detonation. The gas emitted by the grenade triggers hallucinations in affected creatures, causing them to perceive objects, creatures, or other visible phenomena derived from their deeper memories. These hallucinations are vivid, convincing, and personalized to each target, tailored to exploit their fears, desires, or experiences.

Each creature within the affected area must make a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw. On a failed save, the target succumbs to the hallucination and perceives the illusory phenomenon for the next minute. On a successful save, the target resists the effects of the gas and realizes that they are experiencing a hallucination. A creature affected by the hallucination can use its action to examine the illusory phenomenon more closely. This requires a DC 15 Intelligence saving throw. If the target succeeds, they realize that they are indeed hallucinating, breaking free from the illusion and no longer perceiving the false reality.

The Hallucinogenic Grenade has no effect on undead or constructs, as their lack of complex emotions and memories renders them immune to the psychological manipulation induced by the hallucinogenic gas.

The creation and acquisition of Hallucinogenic Grenades are often associated with clandestine operations, secretive organizations, or individuals skilled in the art of illusion and deception. Herbalists, alchemists, or illusionists may possess the knowledge and resources to produce these grenades, although they are generally not openly available in regular markets or establishments. Acquiring Hallucinogenic Grenades may require engaging with discreet contacts, exploring hidden black markets, or embarking on specific quests.
