The Berhelm family was forced to flee for their lives, leaving behind their home, their possessions, and many of their loved ones. They eventually settled in the city of Riverstone, where they tried to rebuild their lives and continue their magical studies. Anastasia's parents worked hard to establish themselves in their new home and to rebuild their magical library, but they never forgot the tragedy that had befallen their family and their city.
Anastasia was still a child when her parents died in a magical accident, leaving her to fend for herself in a world that was unfamiliar and unwelcoming. She inherited her family's magical talents, but she lacked the guidance and support that they had provided. Despite this, Anastasia was determined to continue her family's legacy and to use her powers for good. Anastasia became known in Riverstone for her ability to evaluate children with magical abilities and to determine whether they should be sent to the Arcane Academy in Greenfield.
