Chain of Binding

The Chain of Binding is a formidable weapon made from the very chains that once restrained a powerful demon. The links of the chain are etched with magical runes, and the weapon emanates a faint, ominous glow. When wielded, the chain can magically extend and retract, allowing its wielder to strike at foes with precision and power.

Attunement: 

To attune to the Chain of Binding, a creature must spend a short rest holding and meditating on the weapon. The wielder must possess a lawful or neutral alignment to attune to the chain; those of evil alignment find the chain uncomfortable to wield and cannot attune to it.

Special Abilities:

  • Attack Bonus: The Chain of Binding grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls.
  • Restraint: On a successful hit, the target must succeed on a DC 16 Strength saving throw or be restrained until the end of its next turn. If the target is a fiend or devil, it suffers disadvantage on its saving throw to resist being restrained.
  • Extend and Retract: The Chain of Binding can magically extend or retract its length up to 30 feet as a bonus action, allowing the wielder to strike from a greater distance or wrap the chain around objects and creatures.
