Wyrmslayer is an awe-inspiring greatsword with an intricate dragon motif carved into its blade and hilt. Wyrmslayer is the ancestral heirloom of the Winfield family, a noble house renowned for their prowess in dragon-slaying. Forged in ancient times by master smiths, Wyrmslayer was enchanted with powerful magic to aid its wielders in their battles against dragons and wyverns. For generations, the sword has claimed the lives of many fearsome draconic creatures, cementing the Winfield family's legacy as legendary dragon hunters. However, since the signing of the Dragon Truce of Windelcrest, which brought peace between the people of Windelcrest and dragons, Wyrmslayer has been kept sheathed as a symbol of the new era of harmony. Despite this, the sword remains ready to be unsheathed should the need arise once more.

Attunement:

Wyrmslayer can only be attuned to a creature who has proven their bravery.

Special Features:

• Enhanced Strikes: Wyrmslayer grants a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this weapon.
• Dragonbane: Wyrmslayer deals an additional 3d6 damage to dragons, wyverns, and other draconic creatures.
• Defender of Windelcrest: When a dragon or wyvern targets the wielder with an attack, the wielder can use their reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. This ability can be used a number of times equal to the wielder's proficiency bonus, regaining all uses after a long rest.
