A Stable is a facility for housing and caring for animals, particularly mounts. Upon establishing this facility, you gain access to one Riding Horse (or Camel) and two Ponies (or Mules), which are housed and maintained by the facility’s hireling. The stable can hold up to three Large creatures, and two Medium creatures can share the space of one Large creature.
Item Type: Facility Permit
Level: 9 Bastion Facility
Prerequisite: None
Space: Roomy
Hirelings Required: 1
Order Type: Trade (1d6 BP)
Benefits:
Animal Handling: Any Beast that can serve as a mount and spends at least 14 days in the Stable becomes easier to handle. After this period, you gain Advantage on all Wisdom (Animal Handling) checks made with respect to that mount.
Mount Acquisition (Trade Order):
When you issue the Trade order to this facility, you commission the facility’s hireling to buy or sell one or more mounts at normal cost. The acquisition or sale process takes 7 days.- The DM decides which animals are available for purchase, such as horses, ponies, and mules, though rarer mounts could become available based on the campaign's circumstances.
- When selling a mount from your Stable, you earn 20% more than the standard price listed in the Player’s Handbook. This profit increases as you advance:
- 50% more at level 13.
- 100% more at level 17.
Enlarging the Stable:
You can choose to upgrade your Stable to a Vast Facility by spending 2,000 GP. If you do so, the Stable can house six Large creatures.
Usage:
This contract permit allows you to establish a Stable within your Bastion. The facility serves as a home for your mounts, grants better handling of your animals over time, and gives you a marketplace for trading mounts, with progressively increasing profits as your character grows in power. The stable is ideal for adventurers who rely on their mounts for travel, combat, or utility in their campaigns.
