The Training Area is a specialized facility within your Bastion designed for focused skill development and physical training. Depending on its configuration, it can serve as a courtyard for combat practice, a gymnasium for physical conditioning, or even a music or dance hall for artistic training. The facility comes equipped with targets, padded mats, and other tools necessary for honing the skills of those who train within it.

One of the hirelings is an expert trainer, while the others serve as training partners. This permit allows you to bring a high-level training facility into your Bastion, where characters can engage in rigorous training exercises under expert supervision.

Benefits:

  • Expert Trainers:
    When you establish a Training Area in your Bastion, choose a trainer from the Expert Trainers table. You can replace the trainer with another one from the table at the start of each Bastion turn.

  • Empower Order (Training):
    When you issue the Empower order to this facility, the hirelings conduct 7 days of intensive training. Any character who spends at least 8 hours per day training in the facility for the full training period receives a benefit from the training. This benefit lasts for 7 days after the training is completed.

    • The type of benefit the character receives is determined by the trainer you selected.

Tools Expert
You gain proficiency with one Musical Instrument or Tool of your choice.
Unarmed Combat Expert
When you use an Unarmed Strike to damage a target, the attack deals an extra 1d4 Bludgeoning damage on a hit.
Weapon Expert
Choose a type of Simple or Martial weapon, such as Spear or Longbow.

- If you aren’t proficient, gain proficiency for 7 days.

- If you are proficient, you can use the weapon's Mastery property for 7 days.

Usage:

The Training Area contract permit enables characters to improve their combat abilities, skills, or tool proficiencies over a 7-day training period. By working with expert trainers, characters can gain temporary boons that enhance their abilities in battle, increase their skill proficiencies, or give them mastery over weapons and unarmed combat.
