Golden Thistle

Component / Consumable

Golden Thistle thrives near waterholes and is highly valued for its high water content and naturally sweet flavor, making it a lifesaver in arid regions. A single plant can provide sufficient hydration for one humanoid for an entire day. When refined, its sweet nectar produces Golden Syrup, a restorative substance that heals injuries and alleviates exhaustion. However, the plant's leaves are coated with tiny, sharp spines that can cause painful cuts if handled without protective gloves or tools.

Properties:

  • One plant provides enough hydration for one humanoid for an entire day.
  • Its sweet nectar, when refined (requiring proficiency in cook’s utensils and 1 hour), can create a Golden Syrup, which restores 2d4 hit points and removes one level of exhaustion.

Drawbacks and Warnings:

  • The plant’s leaves are covered in tiny, irritating spines. Harvesting it without gloves or similar protection requires a DC 13 Dexterity check to avoid 1d4 piercing damage.
