First crafted by mischievous enchanters in the early days of the Arcane Academy, the Bottle of Bottled Screams is a novelty item that quickly spread across the world. Whether used by pranksters, clever thieves, or desperate adventurers, its single-use scream has startled nobles, spoiled heists, and scattered flocks of dire geese. The source of the scream is unknown.
Properties:
- Use: As an action, you can uncork the bottle to release a piercing, blood-curdling scream that echoes for 6 seconds. All creatures within 60 feet who can hear it are immediately aware of the sound. The scream is non-magical but extremely loud and unsettling. It can be used to draw the attention of creatures or guards, potentially granting advantage on Stealth checks made immediately after using it, or causing a creature to investigate the sound. Small animals such as birds, rodents, or similar may scatter or flee from the area.
- Single Use. Once used, the bottle becomes a normal glass container with a faint warm echo that only the opener can hear for 24 hours. The scream cannot be reused.
