Hisu Coast, known as the Jade Coast among locals, is a small yet infamous bay located along the eastern stretches of the Nagan Empire. Shared by both Clan Takahide and Clan Yaggard, the coast is renowned for its breathtaking cliffs lined with veins of lustrous jade gemstones. However, its beauty is rivaled only by its treachery; the waters along the coast are violent and unforgiving, with towering waves that crash against jagged rock faces, making navigation a dangerous gamble.

The coastline is marked by crumbling cliffs and sharp outcroppings, with narrow pathways used by daring miners who risk their lives to extract the precious jade. The waves surge with such ferocity that local maps warn sailors to steer clear, labeling it as "The Tempest's Edge."

The Curse of Nori

A legend as old as the coast itself claims that the jade was a divine gift from Takata, Paragon of War, to the goddess Nori, Watcher of Rivers and keeper of the Summer tides. According to myth, Takata carved the gemstones from the earth with his iron gauntlets and gifted them to Nori as a symbol of strength and resilience. When mortals discovered the jade deposits and began to mine them with reckless abandon, Nori's wrath was awakened. To protect her sacred gift, she cursed the waters, turning them into a maelstrom that would batter any who dared defy her will.

It is said that on stormy nights, figures can be seen moving along the cliffs—guardians of the jade, or the spirits of miners who drowned attempting to claim it. Fishermen whisper tales of ghost lights shimmering beneath the waves, flickering with a jade-green glow.

Port Shima

Located on the northern edge of Hisu Coast is Port Shima, a small but enduring settlement under the dominion of Clan Yaggard. Once celebrated as a thriving harbor during the First Age, Shima was a bustling hub for jade trade and maritime commerce. However, its fortunes changed during the Kalamar Invasion, when warlords from the west swept through the coastline, leaving Shima in ruins.

Despite attempts to rebuild, Shima never fully recovered. Its once-grand docks are now modest, catering primarily to fishing boats and the occasional merchant vessel brave enough to navigate the hostile waters. Weathered stone towers lean over the quieter streets, a testament to the town's former glory. The jade trade continues, albeit sparsely, with only the most daring miners attempting to pry the green stone from Nori’s wrathful grasp.

The Samurai Clans of Takahide and Yaggard have long declared that any who wish to mine the coast do so at their own peril, refusing to risk their own warriors to rescue those foolish enough to challenge Nori's curse. The edict is clear: Your fate is your own along Hisu Coast.

Despite the danger, Hisu Coast remains a lure for adventurers and desperate miners. Rumors of untouched veins of jade hidden within unexplored caverns inspire foolhardy expeditions, many of which never return. The jade that is successfully harvested is considered of the highest quality, fetching extraordinary prices in the markets of Nagadao and beyond.

To this day, the coastline remains a delicate balance of beauty and death—a testament to divine wrath and mortal greed, where the waves crash with the fury of a goddess unyielding.
