No single Dale claimed a definitive origin for Fieldball. Old stories, local pride, and conflicting village lore made the game's true birthplace impossible to pin down. What was known is that Fieldball spread through the Dalelands early in its history and became part of daily life everywhere from Battledale to Scardale.
Seasonal matches, feast-day tournaments, and traveling rivalries formed naturally as the sport grew. Every Dale eventually developed its own minor variations and informal leagues.
