Fieldball

Fieldball was the most widespread and beloved sport in the Dalelands. Every Dale—large or small, rich or poor—played it on village greens, farm commons, and open meadows. The game involved striking a small leather-wrapped ball with an ash-wood baton and sprinting around four wooden posts before the fielders could tag the runner out.

Even though each Dale had its own quirks, the core rules remained consistent. Children grew up with it, adults argued about it, and halflings claimed natural superiority at the sport for generations.
