Villagers were sent out to scavenge and locate areas to harvest resources for the villagers to build cisterns and water collection as a stopgap measure until a stable source of water has returned to West Village. While scavenging, the villagers located an abandoned Depot belonging to OSR, which was mostly devoid of supplies, save the shelving and pipes that made up most of the storage solutions in the Depot. Hiding within the Depot was a non-native aberration reminiscent of an over-sized capybara, with many needle-sharp teeth and acidic saliva. It was feasting on the ferrous material of the Depot, and attacked the villagers when they startled it. The fight resolved mostly "peacefully", as the villagers realized the creature was mostly aggressive due to feeling threatened, and soon learned the scrub was being stalked by something less than pleasant. Within the Depot, they found several cyphers in the form of Meal Ready to Eat. Ansel Dragomir (JD Webb)began the process of deciphering the language on the MREs, and brought back abandoned paperwork with the same language on it. The Vllagers made plans to bring back a number of disassembled shelving and pipes back, and clear a path for other villagers to salvage the rest. Taylen Myers (Kris) managed to learn something about the creature stalking the scrub, namely that it was very aware of them, and hunting for something specific. Taylen has been marked for hunt in the future by the creature. Rosebud Wellestook the paperwork off Ansel in exchange for a small bit of wisdom and the promise to help translate.
Alright, lovelies. I know we already sent a few folk out to find water, but we need a stopgap until then. I've got some unused supplies we can jury-rig some water collection, but we'll need more. Namely timber, sand, and gravel. The wilds out in the scrub are dangerous, not that you need to hear that again from me, but exercise caution out there. We spotted smoke towards the old riverbed from the walls. The survivors who returned recently mentioned spotting a structure out that way, so perhaps there might be something useful there? I've got an oddity or two I'd be happy to spare if you're able to bring back something interesting, but no trinket is worth dying over. Be safe.
