Mehdi appears as a powerless West Villager, until he fights or cooks— bio-metallic blades emerge from his wrists, offering a hidden weapon for when his foes least expect it, or a blade for food prep, which might leave some unnerved. Growing up, he lived close to nature, and he credits that time for giving him the skills he needed to survive his journey as a child soldier.
He has also taken on the title of camp cook for his fellow returned. With his knack for creating delicious meals from whatever ingredients he can find around the camp, Mehdi offers a sense of comfort and stability to the ever-evolving landscape. His cooking, however, is only a part of his secret sauce. He wants to use his social acumen to help build bridges between the Returned and West Village, teaching others about various experienced cultures through food and storytelling. Together, Mehdi and the Returned are able to create a community built on trust.
