Normal, Indiana. A perfectly normal town with a perfectly normal secret: Hometown of world renowned Osiris Labs, where "Tomorrow's Innovations Arrive Today!", and host to some of the world's greatest minds. Founded August 8th, 1988, Osiris Labs turned the world on its head, making Normal, Indiana a veritable hub of industrialization and revolutionary technology.
It was originally founded as a mining camp c. 1892, though by 1945 operations had ceased. It almost became a ghost town, until Osiris Labs declared the remote town their headquarters and changed the course of history. Old mine shafts still exist, semi-cordoned entrances dotting the surrounding landscape, but the center of town itself has grown considerably, reaching an official status as a city, as it's population grew to over ~100,000 individuals. While the Osiris Labs maintains status as the largest employer there, plenty others find their place running their own business, or working for a number of larger businesses that have made an effort to be closest to where the profits are.
