The highlands of Gyr Abania are the farthest northeast region of the continent of Aldenard, bordering Ilsabard. Gyr Abania was once home to the city-state of Ala Mhigo until it fell to the Garlean Empire in year 1557 of the Sixth Astral Era. The region is known to Garlemald as the "Ala Mhigan Territory".
