The only biological son of Chatwyn Auberi de Gaspard Christophe was a bright, optimistic soul who was determined to always do the right thing for those that he protected as a member of the Temple Knights. During his years as a Temple Knight gradually wore him down, turning him into a bitter man harboring disgust for the church and those that would hide underneath it. This frustration boiled over in an incident where he turned his blade on his fellow men, rather than the heretic he was told to kill. Nearly beheading the superior officer, who survived due to Halone's intervention, he was quickly arrested and put on trial for heresy, insubordination, and attempted murder. The man was found guilty of all charges thanks to two eye witness testimonies, from a close family friend who was in the same battalion as Christophe, and from the wounded commanding officer.
Christophe was sentenced to hang for his crimes in Ishgard, and his body was disposed of in the usual way with no official gravestone. It is said that his sword was taken to be melted down for the war effort, but tracking the blade became difficult after the Calamity due to the confusion and partial destruction of records.
