An elusive novel written by a Gridanian author about a world where the cleverfolk are far more cunning than just the sylphs in the Twelveswood. A princess from a kingdom on the losing side of the war, Anais is offered to the fae king as a bride in a false bid to broker peace. While in this strange new kingdom, she finds that she cannot speak lies, and spends much of the novel coming to terms with this new and terrifying form of freedom. As the novel progresses, the princess finds herself falling slowly for her betrothed, despite knowing that her true goal is to slay him.
