Signe Aculeus

Signe, once a prodigy of House Aculeus, was raised in the crucible of Garlean militarism, honed into a lethal instrument of the Empire's will. From the moment she could hold a blade, she was taught to conquer without mercy in the name of her homeland. She rose through the ranks, as was expected of her, and earned the name of Signe rem Aculeus by the age of 24.

It was in the midst of an occupation, in a village where resistance flickered like a dying flame,  Signe's conviction faltered. Given a task that was never asked of her before - to take the life of a child whose only crime was defiance. Seeing herself reflected in the child's eyes, she refused and was thusly punished for her own defiance. She spent another year within the legion. With every passing day, her allegiance to her homeland wavered as she reflected on the life she had led thus far. At the age of 26, she could no longer stand to be a pawn of the empire and defected.

She traveled the land and worked as a mercenary. She was known for her somewhat disturbing love for the hunting and killing of her prey. Nevertheless, she was effective at this work and was able to make a fine living.

Currently, she has found refuge within Ishgard’s walls. At first assisting with their hunts for heretics and dragons, and presently seeking to earn her keep some other way now that work has started drying up
