City of Pairidaeza

The City of Pairidaeza is an ethereal arrangement of gardens and palaces that finds itself nestled between realities and dreams. It is the celestial abode and seat of power for the Badkhaneh of the Spring Court. Mortal stories tell myths of a rainbow road that appears every flower-moon that leads from the peak of Giantsgall and to the gates of the mythological city.

History & Origin

The immortal city's location is not fixed, as it harmonizes between realms, notably manifesting above Thavnair, reflecting its deep connection to this region. It can occasionally phase into view from other parts of the Source and even glimpsed across other Shards.

Pairidaeza's mystical inception traces back to the lone ascension of the first Badkhaneh. Legends shroud her journey, narrating her arrival among the migration forces of hyur and miqo'te tribes from southern Illsabard. Displaced from their lands their arrival begat a war. The tale's many turns in tribulations ultimately culminate in betrayal and turning against her former ruler for the sake of peace.

A pivotal moment unfolded when the thus to be immortal confronted and vanquished a mythical creature awakened by war. In wake of her newfound power she defeated her former ruler just as well. To end the aspirations of war, the legend tells that she tore the dream of a new haven from the tyrant's heart. Through an arrow shot high into the sky, she briefly materialized it before its evanescent disappearance into nothingness. A fleeting reality, a vision of paradisal gardens and palaces that were meant to be built on the ruins of lovely Radz-at-Han.

A dream now never to be achieved.

The aftermath of this monumental act led to the formation of Pairidaeza, a manifestation of the displaced paradise cast into the realms between Shards and dreams. This city exists concurrently within the interstices of the Source, above Thavnair, and amidst the collective dream reality.
