An integral part of life in Kälran, the Gods have always been key cornerstones for the faithful that choose to put their trust into them.

Divided into pantheons based on their differing levels of influence and power, they possess dominion over the cosmos and all below it. Creation, destruction, and the laws that the universe are said to obey come from them. Without the Gods, the general belief is that everything would swiftly fall to ruin. Some blasphemous individuals would say the opposite is true too however: without the Gods, none of the problems the peoples of this frozen land face daily would exist at all. Core to all whether it's their admiration or disdain for the powers that be, the impact of the Gods is paramount to all happenings, and for better or for worse, their gifts are true.

The Gods themselves are not the only beings blessed with Divinity, though, of course. There are others that are granted a fraction of their capabilities in exchange for their service, beyond those in rigid worship. Creatures and mortals that ascend to sanctity come in numerous forms, and transition into something even more.
