The Wildcards

This organisation is defunct.

The Wildcards were a gang of misfits and iconoclasts formed by Marked youth who took a renegade stance towards the Harbor of Hearts. Though they worked with and for their fellow Marked, they distrusted Adrianna and her authority, and adopted a counterculture attitude that emphasized radical compassion, communal support, and opposition to hierarchical power. In the end, though, their most enduring legacy--for better and for worse--was their desire to offer a refuge for everybody who didn't have anywhere else to go.

The original group is long defunct, its members having gone their separate ways and created their own individual legacies. But the Wildcards live on as a set of aesthetics and a countercultural ideal that has been adopted and iterated upon by the generations of rebellious youths that came after them. Though some tried, no one group ever emerged as a true direct successor. Instead, the movement splintered into a thousand smaller local groups, some embracing and iterating upon the Wildcards' political philosophies, some more singularly focused on advancing their aesthetics, and some even adopting the kind of unpopular ideas the original Wildcards would have put them in the ground for.

Ultimately, the Wildcards' legacy is not that of an organization but of a philosophy. The Wildcards endure through music and graffiti; through a set of techniques passed down from their close allies The Flamescarred; through skateboard tricks; and through an abandoned Sarenite temple in Moonlit City that serves as both haven and proving grounds for skaters to this day.
